Some junk needs special handling, not a normal load

A few items cannot ride in a standard junk load: wet paint, motor oil, car batteries, tires, and propane tanks. These count as hazardous waste and have their own drop-off rules in California. Most everything else is fair game. Furniture, boxes, old electronics, broken tools, and general clutter all go. If you are not sure about an item, ask before the truck comes. Single item pickup or a full truck load

The size of a junk job usually tracks the space it fills in the truck, not the number of pieces. One heavy couch can take as much room as a pile of small boxes. That is why a quick look at the pile tells us more than a count. Small jobs and big jobs both work. Whether it is one old fridge or a garage full, we scale the load to fit.

Signs it is time to clear the junk out

A room you stopped using because of stored clutter is the clearest sign it is time to clear it out. Other signs: you cannot park in the garage, a broken item has sat for months, or you keep stepping over the same pile. Clutter also hides pests and blocks paths to shutoffs. Clearing it makes the home safer, not just cleaner.

Where junk can legally go in California

California rules say junk cannot go to any open lot: it has to reach a licensed transfer station, landfill, or recycler. Different materials head to different places, and some, like electronics and appliances, have their own handling rules. We sort loads to the right site so nothing gets dumped where it should not.
